How to View Image Metadata
Choose one image, select View Metadata, and review the locally extracted file, image, camera, capture, location, author, software, color, and other available details.
What EXIF Metadata Contains
EXIF can contain camera settings, dates, orientation, software, and other capture details. The available fields depend on the image and how it was created or edited.
Camera and Lens Information
Where present, the viewer shows common camera make, model, lens, exposure, aperture, ISO, and focal-length information without inventing missing values.
GPS Location Metadata
Valid embedded coordinates can be displayed locally with a privacy notice. Savezly does not create maps, geocode coordinates, or send location data anywhere.
Image Dates and Timezone Offsets
Capture, creation, and modification dates are shown with their embedded offsets when available. An offset-less EXIF date is not silently converted to your local timezone.
EXIF Orientation and Preview
The browser provides an orientation-aware local preview when image dimensions meet the safety limits. Metadata remains available when previewing is skipped or unavailable.
Private Browser-Local Processing
Validation, metadata extraction, previewing, and copying happen in your browser. The source image is not uploaded, rewritten, recompressed, rotated, or otherwise modified.
Supported Image Formats
This viewer supports detected JPEG/JPG, PNG, and WebP files up to 20 MiB. AVIF, GIF, BMP, TIFF, HEIC/HEIF, and SVG are not supported in this version.
Why Metadata May Be Missing
Some cameras or editors never add metadata, while messaging, social, export, or optimization workflows may remove it. Basic image properties can still be shown when no recognized embedded metadata remains.
Friendly and Raw Metadata Views
Friendly groups present useful allowlisted fields. The optional raw disclosure is normalized and bounded, excluding MakerNotes, XML, binary data, parser internals, and oversized values.

Does every image have metadata?
No. Metadata may never have been added, or it may have been removed during editing, exporting, or sharing.
Which image formats are supported?
JPEG/JPG, PNG, and WebP images are supported in this version.
Does viewing metadata modify my image?
No. The viewer does not rewrite, rotate, recompress, or otherwise modify the source file.
Why can basic properties appear when metadata is missing?
File name, size, format, and dimensions come from the file and image container rather than embedded descriptive metadata.
Can this tool remove image metadata?
No. This tool only views metadata. Metadata removal is a separate future tool.
