  3. Download each converted page as a separate PNG.

What Happens to Multi-Page PDFs?

Every page becomes one PNG image, with the original page order retained. You can download each completed page individually. A PDF can contain up to 20 pages.

PDF to PNG Quality, Background, and Resolution

Each PDF page is first rendered into pixels at 150 DPI. PNG then stores those rendered pixels using lossless image encoding, but the original PDF text, vectors, links, and editable structure are not preserved. Savezly renders page areas on an opaque white background, and PNG avoids JPEG-style lossy image compression.

PDF Page Size and PNG Dimensions

PNG dimensions depend on the PDF page dimensions at the fixed 150 DPI rendering resolution. Portrait, landscape, rotated, and differently sized pages can therefore produce PNG images with different pixel dimensions.

PNG vs JPG for PDF Pages

PNG often works well for text, diagrams, interface elements, and flat colors. JPG often creates much smaller files for pages dominated by photographs. Neither format is universally smaller, better, or higher quality.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I convert a PDF to PNG?

Choose one PDF, select Convert to PNG, and download each completed page as a separate PNG image.

Does each PDF page become a separate PNG image?

Yes. Savezly creates one PNG for every PDF page and keeps the pages in their original order.

Can I convert a multi-page PDF?

Yes. The converter processes every page sequentially and supports PDFs containing up to 20 pages.

Are the converted PNG images lossless?

PNG stores the rendered page pixels using lossless image encoding. The PDF is first rasterized at 150 DPI, so its original selectable text, vectors, links, and editable structure do not remain in the PNG.

What resolution are the PNG images?

Pages are rendered at a fixed 150 DPI. The resulting pixel dimensions depend on the dimensions and rotation of each PDF page.

Are my PDFs uploaded to Savezly?

No. Your PDF is processed locally in your browser and is not sent to Savezly or an external conversion API.

Can I convert a password-protected PDF?

Not in this version. Remove the password using software you trust, then select the unlocked PDF again.

Do the PNG images have transparent backgrounds?

No. Savezly renders PDF page areas on an opaque white background.

Why can PNG files be larger than JPG files?

PNG uses lossless image encoding, which can produce larger files for photographic pages. It can be efficient for text, diagrams, interface elements, and flat colors.

What PDF size and page limits apply?

You can select one non-empty PDF up to 25 MB containing no more than 20 pages. Additional rendering limits protect browser memory and are explained if a page cannot be processed.
